Woman from Kabardino-Balkaria reports kidnapping of her son

Madina Lupezheva, a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), has stated that on August 12, 2010, at about 9:30 p.m., her son Lupezhev, Aslan Arsenovich, left his home and never returned. The woman asserts that he was kidnapped.

Ms Lupezheva addressed Valery Khatazhukov, head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Human Rights Centre, and Boris Zumakulov, Ombudsman in the KBR, with her application running: "Several days ago Aslan told to me that he was pursued by unknown persons in silvery cars. One day prior to his disappearance we decided to address the militia on the fact."

According to the woman, Aslan "is a law-abiding citizen and was never brought to criminal liability; his disappearance has to do with his performance of religious duties." "My son professes traditional Islam, he works also has no relation to religious extremism," runs Madina Lupezheva's application.
