Armenian NGOs are against Russian schools

On August 4, in the city of Gyumri, debates were held by the Armenian public organization "Chirac Centre" and the initiative group "We're against foreign-language schools" with participation of members of other NGOs on the amendments to the Laws of Armenia "On Language" and "On Education".

The participants of the event adopted an open letter to the Public Council of Armenia, expressing their fears that international-class foreign-language schools will negatively affect the system of secondary education of Armenia, which is still in the process of formation.

Activists of the public sector of the city of Gyumri spoke against making amendments in the above laws and asked the government and the parliament to cancel the respective bill, the "PanARMENIAN.Net" writes.
