School of Koran experts to open in Chechnya in August

A school of hafizes (readers of the Koran by heart) will open on August 23 in Ramzan Kadyrov's family village - Khosi-Yurt (Tsentoroi). The school will be named after Zelimkhan, senior brother of President Kadyrov, who died in 2004.

The opening of the school - the first school of hafizes in Russia - is dated to the birthday of the former head of the republic - Ahmat Kadyrov, who was assassinated on May 9, 2004, as a result of a terror act committed in the Grozny "Dynamo" Stadium.

Teachers from Middle East will be invited to train students: six Islamic scientists from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Syria.

President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov was the initiator of the school. Another school of hafizes will be soon opened in Grozny.
