North-Ossetian journalists bag subscriptions in support of Tskhovrebov beaten in South Ossetia

Journalists of North Ossetia have signed-in in support of their colleague Timur Tskhovrebov, who was attacked and beaten in South Ossetia, and sent an open appeal to the republic's authorities.

The idea to write an appeal belongs to Alan Tskhurbaev, an author of the blog in the "Caucasian Knot". According to his story, first of all it was done to support his colleague.

"We're not going to find out here what the reasons of the attack were; we just want to state that such things should not happen. Someone said that the situation could be understood: people in South Ossetia live in a complex emotional post-war state, when every mentioning of Georgia can provoke an unpredictable reaction. It's really so: we can find the reasons and explanations of the incident. But all the same: the fact should be assessed unequivocally negatively. Therefore, we decided to request a detailed investigation into the attack on Timur Tskhovrebov," said Alan Tskhurbaev.

"The second point is that the appeal is helpful for the North-Ossetian journalistic community as such," he continued. "It's not too frequent that journalists of North Ossetia make a collective appeal; furthermore - in support of their colleague. It will be a good stimulus for greater unity among the writing and filming brotherhood of the republic."
