Natives of Armenia detained in Moscow as suspects of kidnapping

Today at night in the west of Moscow, five natives of Armenia suspected of kidnapping were detained. They extorted 50,000 roubles for release of their hostage. This was reported by Victor Biryukov, head of the department of information and public relations of Moscow GUVD (Chief Interior Department).

"A citizen of Ukraine addressed the on duty unit and said that unidentified persons were keeping his son in one of the car parks in Riabinovaya Street," said Biryukov. "Under far-fetched pretext they demanded money for alleged damage caused to their car."

"When the money was delivered, a resident of the Krasnodar Territory, a native of Armenia was detained; he had a traumatic gun and the hostage's driving license," said the GUVD spokesman.

According to Victor Biryukov, employees of law enforcement bodies "detained, hot on the trail, four visitors - residents of the Krasnodar Territory and Ulyanovsk Region; all of them are natives of Armenia, the "Interfax" reports.

At detention, fire from a "Saiga" short rifle was opened on the militiamen. According to Biryukov, the hostage was released, and nobody suffered from the shooting, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
