ICP: falsification revealed during district council elections in Krasnodar Krai

A criminal case has been initiated in Krasnodar Krai against a member of a precinct election commission with casting vote, suspected of falsification of election documents during the election of Timashevsk district council on March 14.

For reference, during the elections held in the region, candidates from the party "United Russia" have been elected heads of ten Krasnodar Krai districts. The ruling party has also won at most elections of local authorities.

The press-service of the Krai ID ICP reports that, on March 14, the day of the election of Timashevsk district council, a 45-year-old suspected person filled in voting bulletins on behalf of 122 citizens, indicating the candidates for which they had ostensibly voted.

The false bulletins were subsequently used in counting votes.

The Timashevsk inter-district investigation section of the investigation department of the RF ICP in Krasnodar Krai has initiated a criminal case against the member of the precinct election commission, based on the elements of offence under art. 142, 1 of RF CC (falsification of election documents), reports "Rosbalt".

The "Caucasian Knot" previously reported that observers had registered numerous violations during the election day on March 14 in Krasnodar Krai. For instance, a number of complaints came from Sochi where the city assembly members were elected.

In Rostov oblast neighboring Krasnodar Krai, in the town of Shakhty,  the opposition, following the election, announced its intention to challenge its results. According to Sergei Mironov, head of the regional section of the party "Yabloko", a "bunch" of gross violations was revealed in Shakhty during the election. In its turn, Shakhty city committee of the CPRF stated facts "of  gross violation of the constitutional rights and freedoms of the town residents".

According to Sergei Usov, chairman of Rostov oblast election commission, during the March 14 elections of Rostov oblast local authorities, the number of false campaign materials was unprecedented.
