MIA of Dagestan reports liquidation of militants' leader Dzhavatov

As reported by Magomed Ismailov, deputy minister of internal affairs of the republic, as a result of a special operation conducted in the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan, one of militants' leaders was liquidated.

The special operation aimed to search and neutralize militants was started in that district at night on June 26. Law enforcement bodies report losses on both sides: one suspected militant and one OMON (special-purpose militia) fighter were lost.

"The militant killed in the course of the skirmish was preliminary identified as Dzhamalutdin Dzhavatov, leader of the Karamakhin subversive and terrorist grouping, born in 1968, who was in federal search for a number of terrorist crimes," said Ismailov.

According to MIA experts, according to operative data, Dzhavatov was involved in murdering on June 24 of two employees of the Karamakhin settlement militia unit of the Buinaksk ROVD, the "Interfax-South" reports.
