Georgia stops issuing old-type passports

As from now citizens of Georgia can receive only the new-type biometric passports. Old ones are no longer issued.

The "Georgia-Online" reports that issuance of a biometric passport will take 10 days. It will contain a memory chip. The validity term of such passport is 10 years.

As reported by the "GHN" Agency with reference to the Agency of Civil Registry, a biometric passport is the third-generation document, mandatory to simplify the visa regime with the EU.
