MCC rejects claim of ex-head of "Azerbaijanis of Russia" against Zhirinovsky

The Moscow City Court (MCC) has refused to regard the data published in the book by Vladimir Zhirinovsky "LDPR. Last March to the South" as doubtful or discrediting the Azerbaijanis.

Thus, the MCC has upheld the decision of the Meschanskiy District Court of August 24, 2009, which also saw no insults of Azerbaijanis in Zhirinovsky's book.

In February 2009, the claim was filed by Soyun Sadykov, who then represented the Federal National-Cultural Autonomy "Azerbaijanis of Russia", the "Vesti.az" reports.

In particular, the claim ran that in his book Zhirinovsky had offended the Azerbaijani people by saying that they wanted to destroy the Armenian state.

The claimant asked to oblige Zhirinovsky to refute the data from his book, which discredit the honour and dignity of Azerbaijanis, stop selling it and collect from the respondents 100 million roubles as compensation of moral harm, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
