Grozny: unidentified persons continue "marking" girls without headscarves

From early June, unidentified persons are driving in central Grozny in cars with tinted glasses and shoot from paintball rifles (the so-called "markers") at the girls who go along the street with uncovered heads. This is reported by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".

Passengers of these cars (as a rule, black VAZ-2112 models) are in black uniform. One of them shoots a ball with paint at the girl, while the other films the attack to his mobile phone.

Thus, on June 5, several girls were "marked" with paint, the girls' necks and faces were the targets. A girl who walked with her guy was also painted; he began defending her, and as fight burst out. The guy was strongly beaten, but the victims managed to write down the number of the car. According to their data, the car belongs to an employee of the unit of the Chechen MIA.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, one of the attacked girls was hospitalized with a heavy trauma.

Attacks on girls continued on June 6 as well.

"On June 6, I walked with my girlfriend along Putin Avenue. A black car approached from behind; young men in black uniform looked out of it. The car was full of them. I'm wearing a big scarf for a long time already, but my friend was without it. They shot a paintball at her and shouted: "Put on a scarf." One of them cried to me: "And you go away and never make friends with such girls," said a witness of the attack.

None of suffered girls wants to file a complaint on what happened.

Law enforcement bodies of the republic refuse to make comments, saying that they have received no applications on such facts.
