In Armenia, four policemen are accused of Vaan Khalafyan's death

The case initiated on the death of Vaan Khalafyan, 24, has been transferred to the general jurisdiction court of the Kotaik Region. Four employees of the police saw their charges.

Let us remind you that on April 13 Vaan Khalafyan, accused of a theft, was brought to the police department of the city of Charentsavan. On that very day the young man died. Under policemen's statement, Khalafyan, when at the prevention department of the Charentsavan police branch, killed himself with a knife that he took from a cabinet in the office of the department boss.

Four employees of the criminal investigation division of Charentsavan police - head of the division and three senior operative agents - were charged of excess abuse of their official powers. The public prosecutor in charge of supervising the legality of preliminary investigation has approved the bill of particulars.
