Mass poisoning of workers in Rostov Region

Twenty-one workers of the chip-making factory in the city of Azov got food poisoning and were brought to hospital. Eight of them were left there for treatment.

The victims explained their ailment by using on June 16 their set-meals in the canteen of the LLC (Limited Liability Company) "Frito Lay Manufacturing", where they work.

Those meals had been brought to the canteen by the LLC "Miranta" from the city of Rostov-on-Don.

Now, the regional prosecutor's office is studying the incident, the "Interfax" reports.

On May 28, the "Caucasian Knot" reported about mass poisoning in Kayakent village, Kayakent District of Dagestan. There, eight person, including three children and the ambulance doctors called to the accident, got poisoned with chlorine vapour.

On May 27, as a result of a dysentery outbreak in the kindergarten named "Zolotaya Rybka" (Goldfish) in Solyonoe Zaimische, Chernoyar District, Astrakhan Region, ten persons suffered. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it at the regional "Rospotrebnadzor" (Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision).

On February 17-21, over 400 persons, including children, addressed for help to the hospital of the Semikarakor District, Rostov Region, with diarrhoeal syndrome. The reason, as sanitary doctors defined, was pollution of potable water.
