Fatima Margieva set free in South Ossetia

Today, Fatima Margieva, a teacher of the South-Ossetian University, who was accused of illegal arms keeping and was kept in custody until today, was released right from the Tskhinvali City Court.

The court, chaired by Judge Dmitri Tekhov, has sentenced Ms Margieva to two years of conditional imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on May 27, 2009, a search of Margieva's house revealed and confiscated firearms, ammunition and explosives.

Public activists of North and South Ossetia expressed their support to Fatima Margieva. Demands to stop persecuting her were voiced out on March 8 at the rally in Vladikavkaz.
