Detained resident of Ingushetia is suspected of involvement in Stavropol explosion, says his mother

Aslan Patiev, a student of a higher school in Stavropol, is suspected of participation in the explosion in Stavropol. This was reported by his mother Khadizhat Patieva, a resident of the city of Magas, the capital of Ingushetia, who told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the circumstances of her son's detention. The woman asserts that he was called by a telephone call to Bekkhan Atigov, head of the republic's Security Council.

"My son studies by correspondence in a commercial higher school in Stavropol. Now, he has his examination session. But on May 26, when the terror act was committed, he was at home. Aslan works in Magas at the Cadet Corps as the testing range manager, and also as a driver at the Ministry of Construction. On Friday, May 28, he was to go to work. But he was called from the Security Council by Bekkhan Atigov, who invited him to come. My son went there. And then, as our friends who waited for him said, he was detained, hardly he could come in," said Khadizhat Patieva.

According to her story, Aslan could not even talk with Atigov. "He was not even told the reason why he was summoned. They took him away in a VAZ-2114 car. They were federal agents, most likely, from FSB. They spoke Russian. Aslan managed to cry out to his friends asking to warn us that he was taken away," the detainee's mother gave the details.

Khadizhat Patieva notes that her son was not given a chance to contact his relatives.

According to her story, it became known that in the evening on the day of detention her son was brought to Stavropol.

Ms Patieva thinks that her son was beaten by power agents. Her husband went to Stavropol but he was not allowed to see his son; just a parcel with things was taken for transfer to him.

Besides, as reported by Patieva, in the evening on May 28 her apartment was searched.

Bekkhan Atigov refused to make comments on the situation, saying only to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Aslan Patiev was detained by law enforcement bodies and not at his office. "If he is a local resident, the law enforcement bodies should give comment to this end," said the head of the Security Council of Ingushetia.
