Family advocate of assassinated Armenian journalist Grant Dink found hung up in Turkey

On June 4, Khakan Karadag, the lawyer who represented at trial the interests of the family of assassinated editor of the Armenian newspaper "Akos" Grant Dink was found hung up in his apartment in Turkey.

His body was already sent to the morgue for a forensic-medical examination. According to the preliminary version, the lawyer committed suicide, as Verzhikhan Ziflioglu, a journalist of the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, told the Radio Liberty.

However, the fact of suicide has not been officially confirmed yet. The version of suicide is not accepted by relatives of the deceased lawyer.

The name of Khakan Karadag was more than once mentioned during the litigations dealing with Grant Dink's murder. Ogyun Samast, the suspect of murdering the editor, repeatedly threatened Karadag during the trial. The lawyer had stated that during the litigation Samast put a piece of paper into his pocket, on which his name was written. Law enforcement bodies now try to find out what the defendant's idea was, the "Aysor.am" Agency reports.
