Two detained citizens of Georgia released

Two citizens of Georgia detained by the Russian military on the Georgia-South-Ossetia border on 18 May are released, the Sachkhere district militia department reports.

We will remind you that, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, near the border between Georgia and South Ossetia, on May 18, 'Russian occupants' abducted several citizens of Georgia. The authorities of South Ossetia, in turn, previously reported that eight Georgians were arrested on illegal border crossing charges.

Murman Makatsarashvili and Mirian Burjenidze, residents of small town of Jria, which borders the South-Ossetian village of Perevi, have been released today and feel good now, "Gazeta.Ru" informs with reference to the chief of the Sachkhere district militia department.

It is also noted that the detainees are activists from Zurab Noghaideli's party.

The reason for their detention was the lack of identity cards with them, so it was impossible to identify them. After being identified, they were released", "Georgia Online" quotes a member of Zurab Nogaideli's team Levan Roinishvili.

According to Roinishvili, "we have managed to release the activists without any kind of negotiations."
