Explosion in Nalchik wounded over 20 persons

According to the latest data reported by a source in power agencies of Kabardino-Balkaria, the count of injured persons at today's explosion at the hippodrome in Nalchik makes 21 persons.

"The health condition of one patient out of these 21 victims is assessed as grave, of three more - as of medium gravity," said the source.

The bomb was triggered near the central entrance, in the VIP box, where Khachim Shogenov, ex-head of the republic's MIA, was at that moment. According to the city's UVD (Interior Department), he was hospitalized, the ITAR-TASS reports.

"At that time, the top leaders of the republic were touring the city," said the source and added that the explosion was triggered shortly before the leaders were to arrive at the hippodrome, the "Newsru.com" reports.
