UNICEF to appraise Azeri authorities' efforts in defending children

Today, a three-day visit to Baku of Stephen Allen, the UNICEF regional director for Central and Eastern Europe and CIS, begins. The aim of his trip is to assess the results achieved by the government of Azerbaijan in children's health, education and protection.

It is assumed that during his meetings in Baku Mr Allen will get acquainted with the problems faced by Azerbaijani children and the work performed by the government and UNICEF for helping them, as the "Trend" Agency reports.

In the course of the meetings, Stephen Allen will be informed in detail about the efforts undertaken by the Azerbaijani government and UNICEF to help children under the initiative "Building Children-Friendly Azerbaijan," the IA APA reports.

  • SC demands from KBSU documents on legality of Khokonov's dismissal

    The Supreme Court (SC) of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has begun considering the lawsuit lodged by Murat Khokonov, Professor of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU), concerning his illegal dismissal. The SC has demanded from KBSU bosses the documents confirming the legality of professor's dismissal.
