Akhilgov: Evloev shot dead in Nazran sports centre did not shoot - his death was tragic accident

The incident on May 1 in the sports centre of the city of Nazran in Ingushetia, where a judo tournament was held and a security of the President of the republic shot dead one of the visitors, was treated by Kaloy Akhilgov, press secretary of Yunus-Bek Evkurov, as a tragic accident. According to his version, the assassinated Yunus Evloev, 22, did not open fire; and the inspectors engaged in studying the incident have already condoled to his relatives, and President Evkurov prepares his order on rendering moral and material help to Evloev's family.

"What happened was a tragic accident. The poor guy came there with his friends. Suddenly he sharply jumped up and rushed running. A security of the President ran to intercept him. They ran into each other and both fell down; a pistol dropped out of Evloev. He tried to reach him. Other securities, who saw the event, thought that a skirmish could start, and one of them shot in Evloev. Unfortunately, the wound was fatal: Yunus died in situ," Mr Akhilgov said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us remind you that earlier it was reported that on May 1 in the territory of the sports centre one of the visitors of the judo championship, when passing through a metal detector, refused to show his things to securities, snatched out his pistol (a traumatic one retooled into the bullet-firing one), opened fire on militiamen and was shot dead by response fire. At the time of shooting, President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov and several officials were in the sports complex.
