Private house shelled from grenade launcher in Nazran

Today at night, in the municipal district of Barsuki in Nazran, Ingushetia, unidentified persons shelled a private house from a grenade launcher. On preliminary data, the attack was caused by the fact that the house owner was engaged in selling alcohol.

"The incident happened at about 1:00 a.m. The unknown criminals made two shots from a manual grenade launcher at a private household, occupied by an unemployed local resident," said a source in the MIA of Ingushetia.

It was initially reported about grenade launcher shots at the centre of Nazran, after which an intensive automatic skirmish was heard for 3-4 minutes, the "Ingnews.ru" reports.

According to an employee of law enforcement bodies, there were no casualties or victims. An operative-investigatory group now studies the place of the incident.

The "Interfax" reports with reference to the MIA of Ingushetia that the shelling could have to do with the business of the house owner - sale of alcoholic beverages.

This year, it is already the sixth attack registered in the republic on the shops and their owners engaged in selling alcohol.

The previous one took place about a week ago, at night on April 27, in Gazi-Yurt village, Nazran District of Ingushetia, where unidentified persons used a grenade launcher and firearms to attack a cafe located in the federal highway. Nobody suffered.

Earlier, on April 7, a shop was shelled in Ordzhonikidzevskaya village; no victims.

At night on February 27 in Nazran a shop was shelled. One person was lost and one more wounded.

At night on January 14, also in Nazran, unidentified persons shelled the house of a local businessman. On January 6, a woman-shop assistant was killed in a shelling of a kiosk, were alcohol was sold.

In 2009, 11 Ingush shops were shelled, mined and set on fire: seven grocery shops, two kiosks, four cafes and one marketplace.

Representatives of the local Moslem clergy are inclined to believe that such attacks are made on religious motives, since Islam categorically forbids any sale and use of strong drinks.
