Cloud of volcanic ash approaches Georgia

Today, the United Transport Administration (UTA) of Georgia has disseminated a statement intended for all airlines and airports of the world that the Tbilisi Airport has problems because of the approaching ash cloud from the Iceland volcano.

"Today, this cloud has approached the borders of Georgia and even covered the sky above Abkhazia," said Kote Tevtoradze, deputy head of the UTA of Georgia.

The Tbilisi Airport has no flights to and from European airports since Saturday, April 17. However, flights are made in several directions: to Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey and Israel.
