Son of killed FSB colonel wounded by explosion in Makhachkala on April 20

One of the bombs triggered yesterday, on April 20, in the evening in the capital of Dagestan, blew up under a BMW car, when Mirza, son of Colonel of Dagestan FSB Kamil Etinbekov, assassinated in 2004, was trying to get in.

Mirza Etinbekov and Evgeni Zaslavskiy - the driver - were wounded and hospitalized. According to the available information, the latter received heavy wounds of his legs. An occasional passer-by was also hospitalized with brain concussion.

Approximately 20 minutes later, when law enforcers came to the place of the explosion, the other bomb planted in a garbage bin in the Shamil Avenue some hundred meters away was triggered.

It was just a lucky occasion that the second explosion had no victims, power agents assert. Popular city restaurants "Viking" and "Bohemia" where practically in the epicentre of the explosion and housed plenty of people at the moment. Several cars parked nearby were damaged.

Murad, a visitor of the cafe, said that his companions wanted to get out and see what had happened, but he managed to stop them. "It's the recent practice that after the first explosion, when militia comes and people gather, the second bomb is triggered," he said. "This was the case in Kizlyar. Therefore, it's better to stay far from the place of the incident."

Meanwhile, as residents of the nearby houses told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, there are victims among them. One of them from the house near the first explosion said that his neighbour was wounded with a bolt, as the bomb was probably stuffed with such bolts.

"We fear to walk along the streets with our children, and I always instruct them to avoid crowds," says Irina, a resident of Makhachkala. "You never know where and when another explosion happens, and how to escape it. People are sick and tired of this lawlessness."
