MIA: kidnappers of six-year girl found in Chechnya

As reported by Ruslan Alkhanov, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya, a kidnapping of a girl of 6 was solved hot on the trail in the republic; the kidnappers demanded a ransom of 2 million roubles for the child.

Several days ago, on April 8, a message arrived to the Grozny ROVD (District Interior Division) about disappearance of Samira Sadulayeva, a girl of 6. According to her relatives, the girl disappeared after she came out of the shop located in Gikalo settlement and belonging to her mother.

On the following day unknown persons called and claimed 2 million roubles of ransom, the ITAR-TASS reports.

"In the course of operative and search actions militiamen managed to catch the culprits' trace. The girl was released and handed over to her parents," said Minister Alkhanov.

Employees of the above ROVD acting together with the agents of the local FSB Department, detained two residents of Chechen-Aul involved in the kidnapping. According to the MIA, they are a married couple who kept the child in an apartment in Grozny.

According to the detainees, their desire "to earn huge money" had pushed them to the crime. Now, militiamen check the spouses for participation in other crimes. If their guilt is proved, they will be under threat of up to 16 years of imprisonment.

"The criminals who have encroached on the health and life of a child should respond with the utmost rigour of the law. The law enforcers who solved this crime and detained the kidnappers, worked professionally and competently. It took them just a couple of hours to release the child and returned the girl to her relatives," Mr Alkhanov said.

The MIA of Chechnya reports that the girl feels well; and there is no threat to her life.
