Judge who sentenced Ryno-Skachevskiy grouping assassinated in Moscow

Today in Moscow, near the door of his flat in No. 24, Strelbischenskiy Lane, Federal Judge Eduard Chuvashov, who tried the nationalist groupings "Ryno-Skachevskiy" and "White Wolves", was shot dead. The investigation believes that it was a murder for hire.

Apart from nationalist groupings, Judge Chuvashov took part in the trial of General Alexander Bulbov from the FDCS (Federal Drugs Circulation Service), accused of abuse of official powers, illegal telephone tapping, bribing, money laundering and bribe-taking by an organized group, related to extortion.

Under preliminary data, the gunman made several shots at Judge Chuvashov and ran away. Inspectors have a general description of a suspect, as the RBC reports.

In the opinion of lawyer Artyom Timushev, who represented the interests of Arthur Ryno, the murder of Judge Eduard Chuvashov has no relation to the "Ryno-Skachevskiy case", the Russian News Service reports. Mr Timushev said that the assassinated judge had considered only the remaining episodes on the case, while "most of the episodes - about 20 of them - had been considered a year ago by the Judge of the City Court Shtunder, Pyotr Egorovich." The lawyer believes that "the trial run by Judge Chuvashov was just of formal character," and could not have any serious effect on the fate of Ryno and Skachevskiy.
