Isa Yamadaev said that in attempt on him blanks were used

Isa Yamadaev, brother of ex-MP Ruslan Yamadaev and ex-commander of the "Vostok" battalion Sulim Yamadaev, said that he had known in advance about the attempt on him, which was planned in July 2009; and then operative agents replaced the cartridges in the pistol of the failed gunman Khavazh Yusupov for blanks.

"Employees of the MIA's department of criminal investigation installed several hidden video cameras in my and my brother's apartments in Odintsovo, which shadowed Yusupov. As a result of surveillance, agents could detect the hiding place, where he hid his pistol, and replace fighting cartridges for blanks in it," the "Kommersant" quotes Isa Yamadaev as saying.

With the aim to provoke the killer, on July 28, 2009, Yamadaev demonstratively sent his family and securities to the summer cottage, then, under some invented pretext invited Yusupov to his home. "The record shows that prior to going to me, Khavazh prayed, and then called the customer. He named me with a bad word and said that he left to kill," said Isa Yamadaev.

In Isa's apartment, an ambush was waiting for Yusupov. "I opened the door, and then deliberately turned my back on him. At that moment he opened fire," said Isa, having added that at detention the failed killer resisted so violently that "five persons could hardly take him."

According to the "Kommersant", Khavazh Yusupov is the only figurant of the criminal case, which was handed over for consideration of the Moscow Regional Court; while the organizer and the customer of the crime are not there, which was also confirmed by Isa. According to his story, which was unofficially confirmed by the Investigatory Committee, currently, Shaa Turlaev, amnestied former security head of Aslan Maskhadov, now adviser of the President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, is checked for involvement in the attempt. According to Isa Yamadaev, Yusupov was at war in Turlaev's grouping and together with him "went out of the forest."

As inspectors managed to clear out, in May 2009, Khavazh Yusupov promised his friend to kill Yamadaev for 3 million US dollars.
