Stepashin: in Ingushetia they tried to intimidate and in Dagestan - to bribe - auditors of RF's Audit Chamber

The Audit Chamber of the Russian Federation has sent a letter to the heads of the Federal Security Bureau (FSB) and Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation reporting about the pressure exerted on the auditors of the Audit Chamber in the course of the check of use of budgetary funds and legality of disposal of land resources in Ingushetia. According to Mr Stepashin, in Dagestan figurants of a crime tried to bribe local employees of the Audit Chamber with 10 million roubles.

Let us remind you that the auditors of the Audit Chamber, led by its Chairman Sergey Stepashin, this January held a complex revision of the Ingush economy. Special attention was given, according to Stepashin, to monitoring and evaluation of the financial and property management efficiency.

At today's plenary session of the State Duma Sergey Stepashin has reported that on March 22, on the outcomes of the revision, he sent letters to the heads of the FSB and MIA. He has emphasized that in the course of the check there was "unprecedented pressure on the auditors," as reported by the "Interfax."

According to Stepashin, after his letters had been dispatched, a certain website "Ingush.ru" placed a news item that "the auditor took a bribe of 1.2 million euros."

He has reminded that the check revealed the damage in the sum of 520 million roubles, 10 criminal cases were opened on attributes of embezzlements, plunders of funds and malversations, "where the whole former Ingush government was soloing."

Speaking to the State Duma on March 24, Sergey Stepashin also reported that by the results of the check conducted by the Audit Chamber, now the MIA and FSB investigate a criminal case about an attempt to steal 100 million roubles of the federal budget money in Dagestan.

According to his story, in the course of the check in two districts of Dagestan faked signatures were revealed in documents aimed to receive housing and communal subventions worth 100 million roubles. Moreover, according to Mr Stepashin, figurants of this crime tried to bribe local employees of the Audit Chamber with 10 million roubles to, as reported by the ITAR-TASS. "The surnames of the criminals are already known," said the Chairman, but refrained from disclosing them.
