Novorossisk: Alexei Dymovskiy loses his case against militia bosses

Former militia major Alexei Dymovskiy, who had told in the Internet about malversations of high-ranking employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Novorossisk, was found guilty of disseminating data discrediting honour and dignity of militia officials.

According to the ruling of the Primorskiy District Court of Novorossisk, Dymovskiy shall make public apologies to Vladimir Chernositov, head of the local UVD (Interior Department), and Valery Medvedev, head of the OVD (Interior Division) of the Primorskiy District, and compensate 50,000 roubles of moral damage to each of his former bosses, the "Life News" reports.

In the opinion of Alexei's advocate Nikolai Ukraintsev, the criminal case against the former militia major of Novorossisk Alexei Dymovskiy is a revenge of his bosses for criticism.

It became known today that Vladimir Chernositov, head of the Novorossisk UVD, gave up a part of his claims against Vadim Karastelyov, head of the Novorossisk Committee of Human Rights, who represents Mr Dymovskiy's interests.

As reported by Mstislav Pomerantsev, the respondent's representative, who is quotes by the "Interfax" "the claimant has excluded from his claims the demand to recognize null and void the data that his private house is an expensive one."

The UVD head still disagrees with Karastelyov's opinion that "there are mass violations of human rights" in Novorossisk, which are covered by Chernositov.
