Announcement of verdict on Kondopoga disorders reappointed on March 29

The Supreme Court of Karelia has postponed announcement of the verdict to six defendants on the case about the mass fight in Kondopoga. Earlier the court planned to announce the verdict on March 15; however, it did not happen, and the new date is March 22.

On February 8, at the Supreme Court of Karelia, the state prosecution demanded to sentence the main figurants of the Kondopoga case - six natives of Chechnya and Dagestan - to imprisonment for the terms from 6 to 22 years.

The "Interfax" adds that the reason of the postponement by a week was in the prosecution's failure to timely finalize the text of the verdict.

The website "News of Karelia" reminds that the judge may enjoy the right to postpone the announcement by another week; but the judge has no right to contact anybody prior to announcement.

Today, the judge did not appear in the courtroom and delivered the postponement decision via the court secretary, the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.

All the defendants are in custody, the Radio Liberty reports.
