Train in Dagestan was blown up by pressure-action mine
In Dagestan, experts have established the type and power of the bomb that was triggered in the evening on March 11 on the railway in Makhachkala. The power of the bomb was 2 kilos of trotyl equivalent.
The explosion already recognized as a terror act happened on March 11 at 9:20 p.m., when a cargo train was moving in the Makhachkala-Port Tarki section. As a result, 14 cars got derailed. A crater 30 centimetres deep and 50 centimetres in diameter was formed by the explosion; nobody suffered.
According to the examination, a press-actuated self-made explosive was packed into a plastic canister, fragments of which were found, the "Interfax" reports.
The RIA "Dagestan" reports with reference to the press centre of the Chief Department of the Ministry for Emergencies of the Russian Federation for Dagestan that the traffic was completely restored on March 12 at 12:05 a.m.
However, as later reported by the RBC, the traffic was resumed only on one track, which was not damaged by the explosion. Repairs of the damaged section continue.
