Central Election Commission announced final election results and confirmed Ilkham Aliyev's victory

Final results of the October 15 presidential elections were announced at the session of the Central Election Commission on October 20. According to them, Ilkham Aliyev won about 80% of the vote (over 3 million votes) and gained victory in the elections. The inauguration of the new president elect is to be held after the Constitutional Court examine and affirm the results.

A source at the Chechen presidential staff told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the inauguration ceremony was planned to be held on October 22. Strangely enough, a meeting of the opposition is set for the same day, the appropriate application to the capital's city hall having been made on October 18.
