Georgian MFA explains how to pass through "Kazbegi-Verkhni Lars"

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Georgia has explained the conditions of passing through the only check point in the Georgian-Russian border named "Kazbegi-Verkhni Lars", which will be reopened on March 1.

Passage of people, transport, cargoes, goods and animals through the check point "Kazbegi" will be executed under the Georgian legislation, and through the "Verkhni Lars" - under the Russian one.

The check points will be opened daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time in the period from March 1 to November 1, and from 7:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. from November 1 to March 1. Crossing the border on foot is forbidden.

Should one of the parties refuse to pass a vehicle, the other party shall free and immediately take it back to its territory.

As reported by "Georgia Today", the statement of the Georgian MFA runs that Georgian visas will not be issued at the "Kazbegi" check point.
