Tsotne Gamsakhurdia's condition is stable, doctors say

The health condition of Tsotne - the son of the first President of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia - is estimated as stable. A special briefing to this topic was held today at the Ministry for Enforcement of Punishments, Probation and Legal Aid. According to David Asatiani, head of the medical department of the Ministry, Tsotne Gamsakhurdia is under special control of the doctors of his department.

"Tsotne refuses to eat and take medicines, but he drinks water. Day and night he is under doctor's supervision," Mr Asatiani has emphasized.

The Ministry made the statement about Tsotne Gamsakhurdia's health condition after his relatives and friends held a protest action at the prison building. Relatives refused to give any comments to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent; however, according to his advocate Keti Bekauri, "the case moves to the fatal outcome." "All the resources of Tsotne's organism are exhausted. He needs to be immediately transferred to the city clinical hospital," she has emphasized.

At night, relatives of Tsotne Gamsakhurdia received information that his health condition sharply worsened, and he had rectum bleeding. His mother - Manana Archvadze - and her supporters demanded to get a chance to visit Tsotne; however, they were not let into the prison.
