Personnel deficit grows in Sochi

Residents of Sochi refuse to work as attendants in hotels and restaurants built in the city for the Olympiad-2014. In the opinion of townspeople, for the period of the Olympic Games it is better to invite workers from other regions and countries, for example, from China.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the organizers of the Games faced the problem of personnel deficit two years ago. Then, experts called the cadre shortage for receiving visitors from all over the world to be one of the most serious problems of the Olympiad in Sochi in 2014. In their opinion, the problem requires special attention, as its solution demands time needed to train people.

The Olympic objects feel deficit not of managers, but of the so-called "line personnel" - parlour-maids, cleaners, waiters, door-keepers, etc.

The general demand of the required workers will reach 170,000 persons, but it would be hardly possible to fill all the vacancies by Sochi residents. The problem is not only in the scarce free manpower of the city-resort, but also in the specific mentality of its residents, who find it unacceptable to work as ordinary attendants.

The problem can force the Games organizers to make non-standard decisions. In particular, the work of the attendants can be organized by rotation.
