Ingush oppositional website reports another powerful hacker's attack

A bit more than 24 hours after the last interview of the murdered Chechen human rights defender Natalia Estemirova appeared in the website of Ingush opposition "Ingushetiyaru.org", it was attacked with a huge force and finally deprived of any working capacity. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from Lydia Mikhalchenko, editor of the website.

"Some 36 hours after the exclusive material - the last interview of Natalia Estemirova, assassinated in July, earlier published by the 'Caucasian Knot', - appeared in our site 'Ingushetiyaru.org', it was attacked with a new force and finally cracked. Earlier, we nevertheless managed to periodically repair it, although they give no rest to us since early January," Ms Mikhalchenko has stated.

She believes that it was Estemirova's interview, placed in the site, mainly provoked the new violent attack. "As soon as we manage to restore the work of the portal, the interview and all other materials will be again presented to the attention of the audience. However, in this case we'll have more grounds to worry directly about those who makes this site," she said.

"We're not going to leave this work, let it even be in fact extreme journalism. We do it not for money and not for remuneration. Personally I, for example, would like to bring my contribution into the fight for the right to my trade. My colleagues in the Caucasus are in fact deprived of this right," said the editor.
