Case on disappearance of Maksharip Aushev's relatives opened under the murder article

The Investigatory Department for St Petersburg of the ICPO has initiated a criminal case under the article of "murder of two and more persons" in connection with disappearance in this city of four natives of Ingushetia, relatives of the widow of Maksharip Aushev, a human rights activist, who was shot dead last October.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that relatives of Fatima Dzhanieva, Maksharip Aushev's widow, disappeared in St Petersburg at night of December 28, 2009.

Meanwhile, Tanzila Dobrieva, wife on one of the missing persons, believes that the inquiry has lost too much time. According to her version, she talked to the inspector on January 27; and there were no serious results.

"I'm indignant with the protraction. When it was all fresh, and it was possible to find out something, to find and question witnesses; it was not done," said the woman. "Now they say that there are video records from the city video surveillance cameras; and they show that they were followed by some car. I'm always told that the men could leave by themselves. But this version is just crazy. Two of them are family people; my husband's brother has four children, and since his student's years he lives in Archangelsk with his family. We also have a normal family and a child. Like everyone else, we dreamed to give him good education."
