Armenia sends soldiers to Afghanistan

Armenia will send its military contingent to Afghanistan to take part in the mission of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). It comprises 36 infantrymen, three liaison officers and one army doctor.

The Armenian peacemakers will make a part of the German military subdivision, subordinate to the NATO Northern Regional Command. They will ensure safety of the airport in the city of Kunduz and changeover every 6 months, the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.

On January 10, the Armenian militaries will go to Germany to take their retraining before deployment in Afghanistan in mid-February, as reported by the "PanArmenian".
