MP from Dagestan Isaev denounces his signature under appeal to Russia's Public Prosecutor

Rizvan Isaev, Deputy of the Russian State Duma from Dagestan, has categorically refuted the information that he had signed an appeal of a group of MPs from Dagestan to Yuri Chaika, General Public Prosecutor, asking to take measures against "armed groups commanded by state officials." Mr Isaev treated the incident as "provocation".

"I have no idea who supports the initiative to address the State Office of Public Prosecutor and what aim these people have, but I'm not going to take part in these nasty games. It's a typical provocation. I was away from Moscow, and my colleague and fellow countryman, also Duma Deputy, Asanbuba Nyudyurbekov called me up and said that some appeal to the Prosecutor's Office was prepared. I said that I shouldn't sign it, and the signature that can be found there is no mine," the MP told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and added that would try to find out who had signed the appeal on his behalf.

Deputy Magomed-kadi Gasanov, in his turn, has laconically confirmed that he had signed the document. "Yes, I've signed the appeal, and it went to the Public Prosecutor's Office," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Earlier, some MPs told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent (on condition of anonymity) that the appeal was never sent.

Let us remind you that on December 25 information appeared that a group of Dagestan Duma Deputies had sent an official letter to Russia's General Prosecutor Yuri Chaika, asking to take measures against "armed groupings commanded by state officials." In the opinion of experts, this letter was aimed against the incumbent President of Dagestan Mukhu Aliev.
