Dibirov: trial on election case of Derbent Mayor was held with violations

As reported by Magomed Dibirov, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Dagestan, the consideration by the Derbent City Court of the case about the election of the Mayor, held on October 11, which ended in nullifying all the protocols, passed with violations of the Russian Code of Civil Procedure.

According to his story, "an essential violation was in that the court made its decision without inviting members of the Derbent territorial electoral commission, the decisions of which were the subject of the trial."

According to the CEC of Dagestan, at October 11 election, the incumbent city head Felix Kaziakhmedov, member of the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party, was elected Mayor of Derbent with over 67 percent of votes in his support. However, the candidates-losers demanded to cancel the election results, as more than one third of the polling stations were closed on the voting day. On December 3, the Derbent City Court of cancelled to election results.
