Patriarch Kirill: Azerbaijan keeps high level of inter-religious dialogue

Patriarch Kirill has expressed his gratitude to the head of Azerbaijan for the high level of inter-religious relations in his country and the position of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), and for cooperation between the Moslems and Orthodox Christians of the republic.

"In a certain sense, Azerbaijan is a good example for other countries," said the head of the ROC. By his estimates, "there's not a single problem here" in this sphere, as the ITAR-TASS reports.

Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Kirill has visited Baku for participation in the international conference "Inter-religious dialogue: from mutual understanding to cooperation". One of the problems addressed by the forum was non-admission of intra-church schisms. The pretext was the decision of the Sukhumi-Abkhazian Eparchy to split away from the Georgian Orthodox Church and transfer under spiritual jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchy, as reported by the "Mir" TV Channel.
