200 jobless persons to open their businesses in North Ossetia

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by the republic's committee for population employment that 200 jobless citizens have received subsidies at a rate of maximum annual unemployment allowance - 58,800 roubles - to start their own businesses.

As noted by Madina Gabalova, press secretary of the Committee, subsidies were granted free of charge after the applicants from among unemployed persons defended their business plans and successfully passed testing.

"At times, the ingenuity of our fellow countrymen and breadth of activities are amazing: along with transportation of passengers and freights, and running shops, there are business ideas of Internet-based supermarkets, making furniture from willow twigs, complex services in the beauty industry, and cultivation of mushrooms, fruits and vegetables," said Ms Gabalova.

"Out of 200 jobless citizens, 199 became individual entrepreneurs and one - a legal entity. In particular, 38 persons became farmers and went in for agriculture," she explained.

According to the "Caucasian Knot", by the end of October, in total, 12,257 persons were registered by employment centres in North Ossetia as unemployed. The level of registered unemployment makes 3.4 percent of the capable population of the republic - 360,200 persons.
