Georgian wants to strive for better custody conditions for detainees in Archangelsk special facility

Citizen of Georgia Nodar Nikoleishvili had to go on hunger strike at the militia special detention facility in Archangelsk because of "inhuman custody conditions and long stay at the facility, which is not intended for the purpose." The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from Nikoleishvili himself, who waits for his exclusion from Russia for the fifth month already.

"My Georgian passport with visa in it was torn into pieces in 2002 by militiamen; and I couldn't leave for Georgia. I was put behind bars; they gave me no documents; I spent there a month; and then, they released me. My life went to rack and ruin, I couldn't go home, although I even addressed the Georgian consulate. And now, since June 26, I am here; neither visa nor documents - nothing is done. We stay here in terrible conditions; and we've gone on hunger strike, but we can't get out for meeting anyone," said Nikoleishvili.

According to his story, the Georgian embassy is already dealing with exclusion of arrested Georgians. When back at large, Nodar Nikoleishvili wants to reach justice for other detainees still kept at the facility.
