Russia's MIA: NGOs are behind Major Dymovskiy's video appeal to Putin

The public statements of Militia Major Alexei Dymovskiy were backed up by NGOs funded from abroad, in particular, the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This was stated by a source from the Department of Internal Security (DIS) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Russia.

"The chosen method, form and time of placing the video appeal evidence that Dymovskiy is supported by third forces," the "Echo Moskvy" Radio quotes the source from the MIA's DIS.

According to the source, "heads of several so-called 'regional human rights organizations', sponsored, among other sources, from abroad, are active participants in this case."

In particular, he meant the organization named "The Novorossisk City Committee on Human Rights", which received a grant from the "Southern Regional Resource Centre" (SRRC). Its publishing activities are funded, among other sources, by the USAID, as reported by the "Interfax".

"The character of public activities (8 protest actions have been held recently) indicates that the above organizations are interested to use Dymovskiy's video appeal as their next PR action," said the source from the DIS.
