In Azerbaijan, at trial on the fight in "Lebanon" Restaurant, bloggers evidenced

Today, the Sabail District Court of the capital of Azerbaijan, chaired by Judge Araz Guseinov, continued the judicial hearings on the case of young bloggers Adnan Gadjizade and Emin Milli, accused of hooliganism and causing physical injuries.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that Vyusal Mamedov and Babek Guseinov, considered the suffered party in the case, and two witnesses of the prosecution, have failed to appear in the courtroom.

Elton Guliev, Mr Milli's advocate, petitioned to re-qualify the conclusion of the forensic medical examination issued to Vyusal Mamedov into a "light bodily injury" and exclude it from the list of proofs. State prosecutor Dzheikhun Kyazymov was against it. After the session, the judge has vaguely promised that "this petition can be considered next time."

Then, defendant Adnan Gadjizade gave his evidences. He named the materials of investigation unjustified, as the process was based on mistakes.

"We didn't beat and offend anybody. My life credo excludes violence. The true reason of my arrest is my public work. I studied in the USA and was brought up in an intelligent family. The youth organization that I created is against violent methods," said Gadjizade, who is the head of the youth organization "Ol!" (Be!).

Further, he gave details about the incident on July 8 in the "Lebanon" Restaurant, where young people came under invitation of youth activist Orkhan Gafarov to discuss participation in municipal elections.

"Some 10-15 minutes later, Vyusal Mamedov and Babek Guseinov entered the hall. We discussed the forthcoming elections, and Emin Milli said that the authorities pursue erroneous policy. After that, Vyusal came up to us and Babek swore. Vyusal stood in front of Emin and suddenly struck him with his head, and then with his hand, and Emin fell on his knees. I tried to separate them and received several strong blows. I only tried to evade from them and couldn't render any resistance, because the opponent was much stronger," Adnan Gadjizade said.

Gadjizade has once again told that at once after the incident they addressed policemen for help.

"Having risen to our legs, we ran out of the restaurant to the 39th police station, where we told about the attack on us, but the policemen said that the "Lebanon" Restaurant was not their territory. We took a car and went to the 9th police station. Babek and Vyusal were already there. We were not rendered any medical aid at the station and were not provided with an advocate. The forensic examination held by Medzhid Mamedov was formal, in fact, he didn't examine us," Gadjizade has added, having demonstrated the photos of their visit to the 39th police station and their received traumas.

Then, Mr Milli spoke and confirmed everything that Gadjizade said.
