In Chechnya, sappers of Russian MfE liquidated over 25 mines

Servicemen of the united regiment of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Russia named "Leader", who came in mid-September to Chechnya for demining the territory of one of local state farms, have already cleared over eight hectares of arable land from explosives.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the MfE of Chechnya that during this time the sappers have neutralized more than 25 various explosive objects. In total, it is still necessary to clear the territory of 60 hectares from land mines, fougasses and various unexploded ordnances.

"Experts of the Centre for Special-Risk Operations 'Leader' of the Ministry for Emergencies of Russia, who arrived in the republic on September 18, continue their work of demining the farmland of the state farm "Zarya", located in the Grozny District of the republic," said the Ministry spokesman. "The problem is complicated by the need for the suppers to conduct the so-called 'all-over demining' of the territory, which demands a careful, centimetre by centimetre, land examination."

According to his story, the work of the "Leader" experts will last till the end of October.
