Mamsurov: authorities of North Ossetia do not interfere with Ingushes' return to Prigorodny District

Head of North Ossetia Taimuraz Mamsurov said at today's meeting on problems of refugees and forced migrants that Ingushes can freely return to the Prigorodny District; the authorities of North Ossetia will raise no obstacles to the process.

As reported by the press service of the head of the republic, Mr Mamsurov said in his speech that North Ossetia is a part of the territory of the Russian Federation, where "…all nationals" can freely live.

"The Prigorodny District of North Ossetia has all the necessary conditions in place for return to the places of permanent residence of those Ingushes, who are considered to be forced resettlers from the zone of the Ossetian-Ingush; the issues of employment and social security of the population are addressed," Mr Mamsurov's press service has assured.

As an example of the attention to refugees and forced migrants paid by local authorities, the participants of the meeting were reminded that 58 families of refugees from the internal areas of Georgia, Central Asia and Baltic countries received keys from their apartments in the overhauled house in Vladikavkaz.

Soslan Khadikov, deputy minister on nationalities' matters of North Ossetia, reported earlier that there were no disputed situations between the people inhabiting the post-conflict (Prigorodny) territory.

According to this ministry, 3000 Ingush children attend North-Ossetian schools, and 250 Ingush teachers work in general educational establishments in the territory of the republic. Administrations of dwelling settlements Maiskiy, Kurtat and Dachnoe of the Prigorodny District are also headed by representatives of this nationality. More than 70 Ingush nationals are on their service in law-enforcement bodies of the republic. All of them are full-fledged residents of the multinational North Ossetia, as emphasized by Mr Khadikov.
