Hacker who threatened President of Chechnya can get up to five years of prison

The investigation believes that Albert Saaev, a resident of Dagestan, who was detained in Moscow, was involved in hacking the website "Chechnya Today" and placing threats to Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov there.

The website "Chechnya Today" was cracked on June 26, and the text with threats to the republic's leader remained there for several hours. On the average, this resource is visited by up to 11 thousand users, and all of them could see this text," said a source in the Prosecutor's Office. "The linguistic examination of the text has shown that it has a direct threat by murder to the official person, which made the grounds for opening a criminal case."

According to the source, under Article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code, the malefactor can be punished by up to five years of imprisonment.

The website "Chechnya Today" was launched early last year by the Ministry on External Communications, National Policy, Press and Information of Chechnya with the aim to inform the public about the situation in the region. Basically, it was intended for the natives of Chechnya, who live or stay outside the republic, including in the countries of Europe.

On September 25, it became known that the Lefortovo Court of Moscow arrested Albert Saaev, a native of Dagestan, suspected of making hacker's attacks on official websites of the authorities and departments of the Chechen Republic, Dagestan and Ingushetia, which disrupted the operation of the resources, authorized blocking and updating of the information stored there.
