Georgia: street traders ask MIA to stop oppressing them

In Tbilisi, the street traders, who worked in the territory adjoining the "Dynamo" stadium, sent a letter to Vano Merabishvili, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, calling him to stop oppressions.

According to Lasha Chkhartishvili, a member of the Conservative Party, on September 12 some of the traders were expelled from their usual territory and are not allowed trading. According to Mr Chkhartishvili, about 200 persons have faced the problem, the "Georgia Online" writes.

The "Georgia Today" writes that earlier the oppositional Conservative Party had held, together with the street traders, a joint protest action in Tbilisi. No reaction of the authorities of Tbilisi to the protest action of the traders has been reported yet.
