Hearings on "Black Hawks" case resumed in Moscow

On September 22, the Dorogomilov Court of Moscow resumed hearings on the case about attacks of the nationalist grouping, the so-called "Black Hawks", on two Moscow students. The beak was caused by the murder of one of the defendants.

According to the materials of the investigation, in May 2008 a group of seven persons, natives of the Caucasus, attacked in Moscow metro two students - Fyodor Markov, 19, and Pavel Novitskiy, 16. Markov was hospitalized with heavy traumas. Pavel also addressed doctors for help. The attack was recorded to the mobile phone of one of the attackers. Suspects were detained in summer of 2008.

The defendants are accused of committing crimes under the articles of "hooliganism" and "wilful infliction of heavy harm to one's health", the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.

"The court has listened to evidences of witness Razumov, who completely confirmed the fact of an armed attack of the defendants on the students with shouting out nationalist slogans," the "Kommersant" quotes the advocate of one of the victims.

Two of the defendants are in custody, the other five - under recognizance not to leave. In early September, one of the attackers, Rasul Khalilov, was shot dead by an unidentified person near the entrance of his house. The responsibility for Khalilov's murder was taken by "Russian nationalists".
