Next week, Evkurov to nominate Ombudsman of Ingushetia

President of the Republic of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov will, most likely, offer his Parliament a nominee to the post of the national Ombudsman in the course of the week to come. On September 17, the former Ombudsman Karim-Sultan Kokurkhaev was dismissed from the post ahead of term.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Parliament of Ingushetia that the would-be Ombudsman should be nominated by President of Ingushetia. According to Bers Evloev, head of the information-analytical department of the National Assembly, the MPs should approve or reject the nominee. "Meanwhile, the President has not offered anybody," Mr Evloev said.

According to Kaloy Akhilgov, press secretary of President of Ingushetia, meanwhile, there were no offers from President as to the nominee. "Since the institution of the Ombudsman is very important, especially for Ingushetia, it will be done by Evkurov in the days to come," said Mr Akhilgov.
