March of BEBP to Moscow to start on October 4

The Board of Elders of Balkar People (BEBP) has defined the date of holding the march of Balkar people.  The action intended to draw attention to the problems of the Balkar people will take place on October 4.

As reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Bakhautdin Etezov, deputy chairman of the BEBP, those who have signed in are firmly committed to go on foot; however, it is not excluded that part of the way, where there are no pedestrian routes, will be covered in cars.

The number of would-be participants remains the same - about three hundred persons in the age bracket 20 to 84.

The participants of the march will demand a meeting with President of Russia Dmitri Medvedev or Chairman of the Government Vladimir Putin, and plan to stay in Moscow until the meeting takes place. According to Mr Etezov, by the outcomes of the Moscow campaign the BEBP will make a decision about addressing the Constitutional court of the Russian Federation with a request on defining the status of the Balkar nation.
